This precious baby girl… she was just so sweet and content that I could have photographed her all day! I met this family only a week before she arrived when Mom decided she really did want some maternity photos. We met up at her 38th week and had a feeling this little girl was to arrive soon!
Although not everyone feels they want to capture images of their pregnancy, I always encourage it. Not only is it an important time to document, but it also gives me a really great opportunity to get to know the family. This baby girls’ big brother (2) and sister (5) had the chance to run, play and laugh with me during the maternity photos. It enables me to create a small, but valuable relationship with them. When they returned a week or two later for the newborn photos in the studio, they were much more comfortable and ready to interact with me.
I know that one of my strengths is working with children, helping them feel comfortable and knowing their limits. Finding what makes their little personalities come out. I pride my ability to find and capture their true expressions. This is something that I hope all families seek when looking for their photographer. The images that you display proudly on your walls at home, or share online should show people the vibrance of your family.
