I am so excited to finally share some of the images I’ve captured of my little peanut, Kashen!
As his brother, Kashen arrived via C Section due to being breech. Looks like my little ones would rather stay in there forever then turn down and come out the normal way! He arrived at 8:27am on October 6th. Mommy was in recovery just dying to come up and spend some time with him!
The first few hours were not really my best… I do not react well to the anethstetic and was very ill, being sick and having a c section are not two things that go well together! I think I was sick almost every hour from the second they started! The first photo I’m posting here is one taken with that first hour that I was back in my room. I was still very ill so Kashen and I just took a nap and cuddled! Soon after his little brother Nixon arrived to meet him for the first time. I was so excited for this moment, Nixon had been waiting soooooo long to meet ‘baby’. I knew it was going to be special. I’ve opened up these photos so many times just to look back at that smile Nixon had when he first got to hold him, he was so instantly in love and over the moon happy.
I was so determined to get a few photos of Kashen on his ‘birthday’ I wish I had video of how it all went down. Due to still being very sick it was a combined effort with my mom. We placed everything I wanted on my bed at my feet… I sat up, had to move everything quickly as I was sick again, put it back, moved it…. you get the picture. Well we got a few shots of Kash on the blue blanket the day he was born, that was enough!
The following two days were spent in the hospital, I couldn’t wait to get home. I was released a day early and was super excited to get home and take some real pictures! Luckily I was healing quickly from the surgery and was in my studio shooting away at 3 days.
The images below are a series of different photos I had taken over Kashens first 10 days. I really wanted to get outside and take some and was so happy that we had a few really warm sunny afternoons that I was able to do that!
I hope you enjoy these images, it was hard to choose from the ‘few’ that I have… but will continue to post updates of the boys as they grow! Having another little one has inspired me to really pursue photographing newborns as my primary work – so if you know of anyone expecting, please send them my info as I would LOVE to meet their little one and continue capturing all the little features that are so unique to newborns.
Thank you for all the kind messages and well wishes!
This was too cute to pass up… all the boys going to have a rest with us at the hospital and Nixon asked that his brother come down to cuddle with them too… kisses all around!
