They couldn’t have planned a better day to celebrate their love. It was the perfect afternoon in beautiful downtown Vancouver, the day was about to get started and already everyone was buzzing with excitement!
I was so thrilled when I first spoke with Sarah and JJ. They knew without even meeting with me that I was going to be their photographer – I love that!! I first met these two at my home – it was a typical crazy evening with kids and dogs all over the place and these two seemed to be so comfortable with it all. It became clear to me why when I met all of their family! They are the most loving and caring group of people and I was honoured to spend my time in their presence. During the wedding there were so many personal touches that made this oh so special. From the sentimental to the adorable – I’ll share with you some of the many ‘little’ things that I found through out their day.
I often will say it’s the little details that you don’t want to forget about your day. Those include the little glances, the looks, the feeling, emotion, reaction… all of it, it’s all so important! These are the things I enjoy looking for while I work.
The images below are a collaboration of my own as well as the very talented Jarusha Brown. All of the guys were getting ready at Sarah +JJ’s beautiful home in Vancouver and Jarusha did an amazing job of capturing it! The ladies and I were at the Four Seasons Hotel where the room was all a buzz! We then went on to meet up at the Jack Poole Plaza where we staged their ‘first look’ and went on to take pictures all through out the city. Everyone then came together at the Vancouver Art Gallery where these two were witnessed by friends and family, but also young children that Sarah teaches. The choir from the school she works at were there to sing for everyone, it was so special and wish I had a video to share with you! Towards the end of the song the entire family joined in as they sang The Lumier’s Ho Hey all while JJ’s dad was on guitar.
I am so excited for these two as they are both so very much in love and fit so well together! Can’t wait to see what this next chapter will bring for you!
