Last week I met up with two families one morning at Redwoods Park in South Surrey. It truly was a perfect morning for photos… not too cold, beautiful sunshine and of course the amazing fall colours.
So when I was looking at these photos to post I of course wanted to share them in colour… BUT then I though – with all this texture and contrast, they might look cool in black and white as well. So for a change, here is a session in black and white!
This family had not done an outdoor session before… so I know Mom wanted to make sure we got it right. She had a whole basket of goodies for the kids! We pulled out the bubbles as what kid doesn’t love to play with bubbles?! I am super happy with how they turned out. Of course it didn’t take long for these kids to see the park just behind me… so at one point I wanted a picture of just mom and dad and murphy’s law, the kids wanted back in!! They pulled at each parent to take them to the park, and I thought how fitting: we are trying to capture just the parents, a little ‘me’ time and the kids are at your feet. Just like when we take a phone call all of a sudden they are hungry, need a drink, spilled something….In the end we got a shot of just them as well as one of just mom – everyone needs a portrait of their mom!
I hope you like the change up with the black and whites!!
