Birth Video | Langley Birth Photographer + Videographer

I am so very excited to share this post !!!

Of course I love capturing newborn photos in the studio and families as they grow – but it all stems from the most magical moment and experience of when a child is born and your family grows by one more.

I have had the honour of watching both my niece and nephew arrive into this world and have always known that I would love to start photographing and capturing video for others during such a magical time.

Just a few weeks ago I was so excited to be able to capture the birth of Max was born to my very best friend who I’ve known since high school.  I got the text on Superbowl Sunday that ‘things have started’… I was glued to my phone!!!  I couldn’t wait to hear how things were progressing… my heart was already pounding!  Once I knew they were on their way to the hospital I didnt’t waste anytime meeting them there.  I knew this baby was going to come fast!  As I arrived I’m told that even the nurses didn’t want to check her… they knew that anyone checking things out down there would most likely also get things moving more quickly… problem was there were no doctors available!  Turns out most of them had scheduled off for the day (wonder why… some Super Bowl thing???)  I arrived there at 7:30 and by 9:30 little Max had arrived!  He would have come much sooner, but there really was no doctor ready… the nurses just kept telling Mom to ‘not push’.  Right… ok….not push when you know you’re ready!!  As soon as she was given the ok to push he came out in 7 minutes, just two pushes and done all naturally!  WAY TO GO MOM!!!  I can’t express what it was like to be in the room as she welcomed her third and amazing little boy Max.  I know that the most important person you want by your side during a delivery is your spouse but next to that is your own mother.  Sadly Bri’s mom was unable to be there that night, so I became her eyes… she so wished she could have been there supporting Bri and witness the miracle of birth – but I do hope that this video brings her as close as actually being there as it can.

I really do hope to be able to capture more and more of these sessions as personally I think it is more important then having a video at your wedding.  There is so much going on, so much emotion, so little energy and all pulled into one of the most important days in your life.  I know that I love thinking back to when my kids were born and would so have loved to have something like this to watch and share with them as they get older!

Jennifer Rowse Wow, so beautiful! Very excited to deliver at this hospital! 🙂February 20, 2014 – 11:11 pm

Bonnie James I know! I never thought I would want one and now its too late for me. I am done at 2 kids. 🙁 I will definitely mention it to my friends as it looks like a beautiful memory captured. That moment goes by so fast and you can't appreciate it fully at the time when you are struggling with pain management. It would have been so nice to look at the video to be able to see the moment with a clear mind, so to speak. February 20, 2014 – 2:06 am

Jen Sutherland So glad you liked it! Don't we all wish we had something like this!!! The hard thing with these is that you don't know you want it until it's too late 🙁 So helping me spread the word at the value of having this would be awesome!!
