You’re going to want to cozy up when you see these pictures!!!
Last week I was contacted by Terri who was planning to be married in a few short days! I was excited for the opportunity to capture something that was coming together so quickly! The weather forecast was calling for COLD and snowy conditions… but that worked just fine for this New York couple.
They started dating 7 years ago in New York and relocated here to BC just over a year ago. Jason was just relocated again back to the US, so they decided that this time they would re-enter the US as a married couple! SO… within 2 weeks they planned the wedding! As they are both American, they wanted to be married in the US. So when I was contacted, I was asked to just do a few photos that they could share with their family and friends, and not to worry about the actual ceremony. Knowing that they needed to cross the boarder quickly to get to the Court House for their ceremony, I immediately thought of Peace Arch Park! It would incorporate both a part of Canada where they decided to get married, but also the United States, where they are from and are moving back to. Their good friends braved the cold along side them, quickly helping with anything to keep things moving and keep everyone as warm as we could! Thanks for the help!
We knew it was going to be cold, but not this cold! So at -6 degrees out, they were amazing! Terri had on some of the lightest fabrics known to man, I seriously can’t imagine the chill she had through her entire body! Here I am in my big down filled jacket and she’s in almost nothing! At one point I had to give up my coat to warm her up, I could see her turing into a popsicle! I brought a few of my newborn props with me for the session, something for both Jason and Terri to sit on and it worked great!
I think our total shooting time was less then 30 mins with them, and then I had them wait in the car while I did a few detail shots! I love what we managed to capture in that time!
Wishing you both all the happiness in the years to come!
